What Lies Hidden in Southeastern Ohio
"What is Important , What is Eternal, are the Things Unseen..." St. Paul
The ancient lands, valleys and hills of southeastern Ohio contain hidden riches that just may save this nation once more...
...and its not its recently discovered huge shale natural gas deposits alone...

"The things seen are temporal , those things which are unseen, are eternal..." St. Paul
We have in this region, things that which are hidden and have been hidden from the eyes and ears of many, for generations....but nonetheless, it still exists here in this very old, if not pivotal Southeastern Ohio region and our border Ohio River counties.
and the legacy of what lies largely hidden until very recently, will clearly endure the length of this nation's posterity and relevant future ...and will continue to do so as long as human freedom is commensurate w/ the words, life and first principles of what our American experience means even now, to a watching world,
Such a legacy once recovered not unlike the recent mineral rich shale gas and oil fields, of eastern Ohio, it will remain one so very critical and vitally relevant....perhaps, even more so than the recent extremely critical, super rich energy deposits of our regions natural shale formations, like the recent Uttica shale deposits, which many are stating are among the largest anywhere in the U.S. , will help America release herself from its death grip from foreign oil dependency unlike any prior at present in the U.S. which has been searching for at least three decades for a way off and out of the nation's serious addiction to Mideastern Oil.
Ironically, as the path towards energy independence for the entire nation, now appears to make its way directly down and through this very old and well trod roads and hills of the old original Northwest Territory, and, after that, not so long ago, this once very critical and proud region of basic U.S. industry and manufacturing base region.
What lies even further back in our history, may very well lead us, as it too is discovered and literally pulled up from the depths of a forgotten region's own well spring of a forgotten critical formative history. As it is literally brought up to the surface and light of a our modern era scholarship and public understanding and awareness, and the same is re considered, and possibly, even re- imagined and its power and majesty is realized and given its proper place in the entire history of this nation,
This narrative found among the old towns and original peoples of this antebellum American region, could literally help reshape modern America and how the next generations will be able to consider America's own struggles for human rights and individual freedom and more. In doing so, if its given its proper understanding and platform and is allowed its own weight , what happened here and what is still contained in the history of this region, can not only bring America up and out of our very present social, political and even spiritual stagnation and stalemate, that we as a both a region and a nation seem to have fallen into in this most modern of eras.
This can happen, If we truly value the American experience and we place human rights and freedom for all men and women around the globe, as a priority for our nation as did its Founders. Our regions high and primary role in the early formation of what it meant to be living in a nation dedicated to human freedom, and what it meant to be able to be truly American, in the best and highest sense of the words of our Founders better angels, and those who not but one generation later, carried their dream to its highest moral and logical conclusions, and fought for the same, with their lives and talents, until they saw something serious accomplished and realized,
This altogether, may just help, if such is allowed to be also 'extracted' from the region's rich historical underpinnings, to once again begin to lead this nation towards a true meaning of what it meant to be truly American and living in a land founded upon an ideal and idea; that all men are equal and endowed by their Creator, with certain inalienable rights
and this from a region and county called and named after the person who literally wrote that idea into history for all men ever since, Thomas Jefferson
indeed, it then is fitting, ....that from our very old cities and towns and our rural regions hills and trees and natural topography of southeastern Ohio, which were placed by early European migration and Providence along this ancent River, called Ohio by the original peoples who populated these natural dense forests and hills, that the nation once again, just may have no choice to but turn its eyes and ears and have to literally not only accept what lies beneath these hills and valleys to gain a new physical if not economic freedom from...its own serious and dangerous dependency on its energy source needs, but also ...to regain a sense of balance and serious human understanding of what it meant to live in peace, and in equality with one's neighbors
among us...
